- Accommodation – Officers get big houses as accommodation by the government. Moreover, it is free of cost and get additional services as well. It includes house help, gardener, cook, security guard, and security for the family as well. Also, they don’t have to lift a finger as the basic small chores are done by servants too.
- Security – RAS is the highest position in RPSC and so danger is a part of the job. However, security for the officer and his/her family is provided to protect them.
- Transport – Government vehicles and chauffeurs are provided to them. Also, more than one vehicle can be provided too.
- Trips – Officers get highly subsidized accommodation in government bungalows. Moreover, the trip can be official or non-official – it doesn’t matter. However, when they visit Delhi, they can stay in State Bhavans.

| RPSC RAS Promotions |
- RAS Officers start their service as Assistant Collector and Executive Magistrate in training period.
- After the training, they are posted as SDM. Promotion is granted to SDM through the Departmental Promotion Committee, which is headed by the Chairman of the Commission, in accordance with the rules framed by the State Government.
- The SDM will get the first promotion after 8–9 years of the service and usually retires after one or two promotions. The promotion is slower in comparison to the UPSC recruits.
- The RAS Officers may be put either in the field responsibility or in the Secretariat. The RAS Officers in the field duty are SDM who looks after the administrative matters in his area.
- Some of the RAS Officers hold the posts in the State Secretariat. The RAS Officers in the Secretariat plan and formulate the policies of the government and help it implement in the state.
